About the project
The Sugar Creek Bridge culvert in Deckers, Colorado, was showing lack of structural integrity and needed to be extended. To maintain the original culvert’s shape and size while ensuring long-term durability, 53 Corporation LLC chose Channeline’s bespoke GRP lining system.
Channeline designed and manufactured a bespoke two-piece multi-segmental liner with a slipline joint, perfectly profiled to fit the box-shaped culvert. The multi-segmental design provided key logistical and manufacturing benefits including reduced shipping and on-site handling costs by 30%. Manufactured in Dubai, UAE, the liner underwent a mandrel test before shipping to ensure a precise fit. Assembly on-site was completed using Channelbond, Channeline’s high-strength adhesive, which offers durability and resistance to 14 different chemicals, ensuring a secure and long-lasting bond.
Despite battling harsh weather conditions the installation was completed successfully, restoring the culvert’s functionality for the next 150 years. Channeline’s ability to deliver custom GRP solutions while adapting to complex project requirements ensured an efficient and effective rehabilitation process with minimal disruption to the surrounding area.
